Laboratory for Air Pollution/Environmental Technology

The motivation of our laboratory is the reduction of harmful anthropogenic emissions into the atmosphere.

At the forefront of our focus are materials relevant to the air quality of the atmospheric boundary layer, such as particles and greenhouse gases.

Extending important consideration to aspects of sustainability and the preservation of resources, global systems are analyzed to facilitate important decision-making plat-forms for technical solutions, scenarios for the reduction of emissions, and political decisions related to the environment.

Based on a very high level of competence in measurement techniques and analytics, combined with process analyses and modeling, the following topics are examined at the technosphere-atmosphere interface:

  • identification of problematic sources affecting outdoor air quality (e.g. processes, regions)
  • examination of outdoor air through a combination of satellite- and ground-based measurements
  • reduction of emissions from technical processes
