This option enables you to narrow down your search. Three criteria allow you to define more accurately what you are looking for.

• Article type: only displays documents and pages that are assigned to a particular article type.
• Navigation structure: only displays documents and pages of a particular register of this website.
• Organisational unit: only displays documents and pages that are assigned to the relevant organisational unit at Empa.

You can also narrow down your search to certain dates: if you are searching for an event, you can specify the date on which it takes/took place and if you are searching for a publication or document, you can specify the publication date.

Operators to be applied in the «search terms» field

Enter one or several search terms separated by blanks. Our search engine will find all pages and documents (mostly PDF-Files) with words that begin with the search terms and finish with a '*' or exactly match. By default the search engine applies an AND operation between the search terms. The search terms are not case sensitive.

Example begin: nano* laser* powder* finds all articles with words that begin with nano AND laser AND powder
Example exactly: nano laser powder finds all articles with words that exactly match with nano AND laser AND powder

The search terms can be concatenated with the Booelan operators AND, AND NOT, OR (in capital letters) and with brackets. Exemple: reliability sensor (piezo OR optical).
