Strengthening capacities for energy efficiency in buildings in Latin America (CEELA)

The construction sector has great potential to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation and to improve people's quality of life. Currently, this sector is responsible for 40% of CO₂ emissions on the planet and this percentage is expected to increase. The incorporation of sustainability criteria in buildings will help improve economic, social and environmental conditions in Latin America.
The project "Strengthening capacities for energy efficiency in buildings in Latin America" (CEELA) seeks to train and advise professionals to promote energy efficient buildings, adaptive comfort and low or zero CO₂ emissions.
Starting in 2020, this project focuses on the warm-climate zones of Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. Through model buildings, educational offerings and knowledge sharing, it contributes to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
