Dr. Eve Ammerman

Biosketch

Eve Ammerman received her PhD from Michigan State University where she worked in the group of Prof. Tyler L. Cocker. During her PhD she constructed a state-of-the-art ultrafast scanning tunneling microscope that utilized single-cycle phase-stable THz light pulses to coherently drive the tunneling current in an STM. In an effort to advance the field of THz-STM she also participated in developing a number of experimental and analytical methods to perform materials characterization on atomic length scales with sub-picosecond temporal resolution.

In March 2023 Eve joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Researcher working on the 2D Quantum Materials project lead by Dr. Bruno Schuler. Her research goals are aimed at investigating the quantum properties of single molecules and nanostructures with sub-angstrom and sub-picosecond spatio-temporal resolution using advanced microscopy techniques.
