All available building systems are integrated via individual programmable logic controllers (PLC), which communicate over a standardized communication bus (OPC UA). Several individual projects can run in parallel to the supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) of Empa. 

Every minute, measurement data is logged in a database. Partners can define triggers according to the specific project purpose. They also have the possibility of accessing live data from the ehub platform.

Only the specific sensors and actors relevant to the project are accessible. In this way, other components in the overall system do not have to be taken into account, and can be used by other projects.
