Jacob Wright
Jacob Wright received his MSc. in Materials Science from ETH Zürich in 2023. As part of the group of Prof. Laura Heyderman, he studied the formation dynamics of magnetic skyrmions in systems with engineered topography.
In October of 2023, Jacob began his PhD with the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory at Empa in collaboration with EPFL. Here, he pursues the development of chiral intermetallic compounds (i.e. PdGa) as a platform for selective asymmetric heterogeneous catalysis of chiral molecules. Toward this end, he will utilize scanning probe techniques such as STM and nc-AFM, spectroscopy methods including XPD, ARPES, and also LEED-I(V).
