Laric Bobzien received his BSc and MSc in Physics from RWTH Aachen, Germany. During his master studies he focused experimental condensed matter physics with emphasis on nanophotonics. In his master thesis he investigated active holographic metasurfaces in the infrared nanooptics lab.

In December 2022, he started his PhD at the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory in the framework of the ERC StG project of Dr. Bruno Schuler. In his PhD project, Laric will characterize atomic defects in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides at the space-time limit using ultra-fast scanning tunneling microscopy.
