Biosketch

Suyash Singh obtained his Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he specialized in Theoretical and Computational Techniques for Physics. For his Master's, he studied Physics at ETH Zurich, where he worked with the Spin Physics Group.
He joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory at Empa as a PhD student in September 2024. His PhD will start with exploring the properties of decoupled magnetic nanographenes (NGs) using scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) and related techniques in magnetic field and at low temperature. Additionally, he will investigate NGs on graphene in order to explore possible control of their magnetic properties with external parameters.

Fields of interest

Magnetic nanographenes (NGs); Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy (STM and STS); ESR-STM
