Wangwei Xu
Wangwei Xu received his Bachelor in Material Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China. After that, he studied for a master's degree at Kunming University of Science and Technology. During his master's degree, he majored in material physics and chemistry, focusing on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) of molecules on surfaces. In his master's thesis, he studied self-assembly and the on-surface reaction of organic molecules on metal surfaces in LDNV laboratory.
He joined the nanotech@surfaces Laboratory in November 2020. In his Ph.D. program, he focuses on the on-surface synthesis and magnetic properties of graphene nanoribbons and nanographene with non-six-member rings. These studies will be mainly performed by using STM, Scanning Tunneling Spectroscopy (STS), and non-contact Atomic Force Microscopy (ncAFM).
