Biomedical applications
Another promising avenue is exploring aerogels and sol-gel materials for biomedical applications. Our ongoing activities involve biopolymer aerogels, such as chitosan, cellulose, and alginate. Collaborations with D-HEST (ETHZ), TUHH (Germany), and USC (Spain) focus on cellulose and alginate aerogels for drug loading and delivery, cell culture, and antibacterial applications.
