What do we do?
- We develop physical and virtual models for mechanical and thermal materials-body interactions
- We investigate materials-body interactions from local physiology to whole-body comfort
- We validate newly developed sensors for continuous body monitoring
Why do we do this?
- We push advanced funcional and smart materials and technologies from the lab to scale to real-world applications to benefit the Swiss industry and society
How do we do this?
- We intergrate biomimetic structures, sensing materials and advanced biological models in close collaboration with colleagues from the lab, with other Empa labs and partners from academia, clinics and industry
Who are we?
- We are an international and interdisciplinary team of students, post-docs, experienced scientists and lab technicians
Where are we at Empa?
- We are part of the Laboratory for Biomimetic Membranes and Textiles in Empa's Research Focus Area Health and Performance
