Battery baseline processes

As a member of the Swiss Competence for Energy Research “Heat and Electricity Storage”, we developed multiple  baseline processes for battery materials synthesis, slurry formulation, electrode coating, electrode drying, cell assembly, cell cycling, and cell diagnosis. We recently also implemented a protocol developed by several US National Laboratories for the characterization of prototype lab cells with respect to capacity retention and impedance growth. These baseline processes are available to external industrial partners, which would like to benefit from our expertise either through direct mandates or joint research projects. We also dispose of a broad range of materials characterization tools and collaborate closely with Empa’s Coating Competence Center.
