Evaluating the Environmental Sustainability of Printed Wiring Board Production: Experimental Work and Life Cycle Assessment
As the backbone of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) devices, Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) play a crucial role in various applications, characterized by a wide variety of types, compositions, materials, and integration of small electronic components. However, accurate and case-specific data regarding the environmental impacts of PWBs are necessary. Then according to Pirson & Bold (2021), PWBs are considered one of the critical subcomponents in the production of ICT solutions from an environmental perspective. The objective of the proposed internship is to evaluate the environmental impacts of different PWB technologies with the support of lab experiments on selected PWBs to gather necessary data for environmental assessment.
