The installed polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell serves as a backup for the PV system. At low solar radiation and low battery state of charge (SOC), the fuel cell converts hydrogen from the seasonal storage to electricity with an efficiency of approximately 45 % to guarantee stable electric supply.
